If you want emails sent from the LIS to appear using your own custom email address, you will need authenticate your domain with our email provider: Sendgrid. This will give Dendi LIS permission to send emails on your behalf. This is important to prevent the messages from being marked as spam.
In order to accomplish this, you will add three new CNAME records to your DNS provider. These records will do the following automatically:
- prove ownership of your domain to our provider: Sendgrid
- implement
- implement Sender Policy Framework (SPF) record for the LIS
This process is easily done within the LIS. Before you get started, ensure you have administrative access to your domain's DNS settings through your hosting provider.
Step 1: Navigate to the 'Outbound Email' settings
Log in to the LIS, navigate to 'Admin Tools' on the left hand menu. Then, select 'Lab Setup'.
Scroll down on the page and click the link for 'Add Outbound Emails'.
Step 2: Add Your Domain
Here on the "Outbound Email" settings page, you'll find the section for authenticated domains. Click on "Add Domain" to get started.
In the provided field, enter the domain you'd like to add.
For example, if you would like to send emails from support@yourcompany.com, then you would enter yourcompany.com and then hit 'Add Domain'.
Note: For the rest of this article, we will use the example domain 'dendi-sandbox.com'.
Step 3: Add DNS records & Verify Your Domain

Tip: If you need any help with adding the DNS records, please reach out to your domain provider. Example: Godaddy, Namecheap, Google Domain, Network Solutions, Cloudflare, etc...
Note: It can take up to 48 hours for DNS changes to propagate worldwide. Verification may fail until then.
Step 4: Setup Custom Emails
Once verification is successful, your domain will be fully authenticated and you can now send emails from the LIS using your custom email addresses.
