This SOP is for creating, managing Internal Users, and creating permission groups within the LIS.
Key features include:
- Ability to add new internal users with specific permissions.
- Validation of email addresses during user creation.
- Management of user permissions through configurable permission groups.
- Default permission groups are provided for ease of use.
- Example of creating a 'collector group' that allows users to view orders without modification rights.
Accessing Internal Users and Permission Groups:
- Log in to the Dendi LIS.
Locate the 'Admin Tools' tab on the left side of the screen.
Internal Users and Permission Groups should be available.
Adding a New User
- Click on 'Add User'.
- Choose the Permission Group where the user will be added
- Fill in the required fields:
- First Name
- Last Name
- Email Address (the LIS will validate if the email address entered is valid)
- Choose access to all lab locations or a specific in-house lab location.
- Click 'Save User'.
- If an error occurs (invalid email address, etc.), please reach out to Support or change the email address.
Creating and Managing a Permission Group
Navigate back to 'Admin Tools' and select Permission Group
- Identify existing permission groups (Default and Configurable).
- Click on 'Create Permission Group'.
- Define the group (e.g., 'Collector Group') and specify permissions (e.g., view orders only).
- Save to create the Permission Group.
Cautionary Notes
- Always verify the email address before saving a new user to avoid duplication errors.
- Be cautious when assigning permissions to ensure users have appropriate access levels.
Tips for Efficiency
- Use the 'Default' permission groups when possible to save time.
- Regularly review and update user permissions to maintain security and efficiency.
