Adding a New Control

*Controls represent the lowest level of quality control configuration. To verify control observations and QC runs, controls must first be assigned to a control set.

1. Navigate to Quality Control > Controls.
2. Select + Control in the upper-right corner of the page.
3. On the Control Information page, enter the following information, then select Save Control:

• Name
  • Enter a descriptive name for the control.

• Code

  The code must exactly match the instrument identifier. This value must be one-to-one with the control code configured on the instrument.

• Associated Instruments

  Select the instrument on which the control is run.

4. Once saved, the control is created, activated, and automatically assigned a Default Lot.
5. To add or manage values associated with the control, select the Edit icon within the Active Control Values and Lot Information table.

Managing Control Lot Information

Within the Active Control Values and Lot Information section, you may add or update the following fields:

• Lot Number

  Used to refine searches and identify controls.

• Use Start Date

  Defines the start date for the active control lot.

• Expiration Date

  Optional field. This field currently has no system logic tied to it and does not impact QC functionality.

• Notes

  Free-text field for documenting additional information such as open date, manufacturer details, or internal comments.

Save changes as needed to update the control lot configuration.

Adding Control Values

1. In the Update Control Lot page, select + Control Value within the Control Values table.

   You may add multiple control values to a single control by repeating this step.

2. For each control value, select either Test Type or Test Target.

• Test Type is recommended, as Test Target is being deprecated in the Dendi system.
• From the selected option, choose the appropriate test or analyte from the dropdown list.

3. Specify the Result Type as either Quantitative or Qualitative.
4. Enter the following values:
   • Target Mean
   • Target Standard Deviation
   • Unit of Measurement (optional)
5. Select Save to store the control value.
6. Repeat these steps as needed to complete control configuration.

Tip: If additional control value fields are added unintentionally, select the Delete checkbox in the upper-right corner of the control value card to remove them.
