When receiving Orders originating from EHRs or another lab (sendouts), the originating source’s primary identifier will be stored in a Dendi Order’s alternate ID. Both the single- and multi-Order accessioning pages check scanned values against not only Dendi Order Codes & sample barcode IDs, but also Order alternate IDs. Any possible unreceived duplicates based on scanned codes will be brought to the accessioner’s attention.

The accessioner makes the final judgment call on which Order “truly” matches the sample being sent. The accessioning pages make this easier by presenting other information related to the scanned code, such as Account, Patient information, etc.
